TO INDIVIDUALISE YOUR PRESENTATION…..

Backgrounds

It may be that you wish to design your own backgrounds for your slides rather than use Powerpoint's built-in templates.

To customise your own backgrounds (which may be applied to all or just single slides) try the following:

  1. Select 'Format' from the top toolbar, and then 'background'.
  2. You will now see something that looks like this:
  3. Click on the arrow next to the blank text field and select 'fill effects'.
  4. You now have access to a number of tools that you can use to create various background effects:

    • Gradient - provides preset colour combinations and allows creation of effects with pairs of colours
    • Texture - a selection of built-in textures
    • Pattern - preset patterns that can be used with pairs of colours Note: be careful with these. They can be intrusive.
    • Picture - browse your own files for a picture to use as a background

Animation

There are other animation possibilities apart from the transition effects and animating dot points features described earlier.
