ELIZABETH WAYE

Last week's session browsing ESL Talk was very entertaining and productive. The Mad Hatter's Tea Party in the "Garden" was hilarious. And of course the work done by your Port Adelaide students was inspiring (and daunting). The session itself was run very smoothly and professionally I thought; no hitches from where I sat. Just being part of a computer class which isn't bogged down with gremlins and glitches inspires my confidence….so much so, that on Monday I dared to take a class of 16 students into Job Guide Online (my first time and theirs) with great success (beginner's luck ?). Another immediate benefit of doing this course is that I've been able to give a few of my night class students my Email address. When you only see students for three hours a week, receiving work before the following lesson helps to speed up an otherwise tediously slow feedback process. On the other hand, I'm also grateful that only a few of the students use Email, if you know what I mean….I'm a little wary that Email could be a Pandora's box.
