SUE DARSOW

I've been teaching on the Advanced English programme to professionally qualified migrants here at Adelaide Institute for about 18 months now and have been part of the AMEP overall for 3 or 4 years. Having taught in different parts of the world as an English then ESL teacher to students of all ages I can honestly say that this is where I feel most 'me' and most challenged and rewarded. Maybe this has something to do with increasing age? Other adults' experiences of life dovetail in many ways with one's own, don't they?... and our teaching is often bound up with who we are as much as what materials/methods etc. we actually use. At least that's how I experience it. The online course being run at Regency in which I am currently enrolled is now breaking me gently into the wonders of the web and helping to clear up the mysteries of attachment sending, email forwarding and the like. From now on I'll be able to actually understand my children...they'll be so impressed...
