This trial is a cooperative
venture between the Beyond
Text New Practices project and Schefenacker Vision Systems.
This trial will use
a Wimba Voice Board to conduct part of the assessment for the Occupational
Health and Safety program for staff at Schefenacker in August and September,
2005.
Format of Sessions
- Input from trainer
with aid of Powerpoint slides (15 minutes)
- Tour of plant (20
- 30 minutes)
- Assessment with
aid of written workbook (approx one hour)
- Assessment using
voice board (approx 20 minute per person)
Location
- Written assessments
done as a group in main training room
- Oral assessments
done on two computers in the adjacent canteen
- Students doing
oral assessment activity come in pairs to work on the computers
- Allotted time allows
for a maximum of 4 students to do the oral activities per session
